Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female signing for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label debuted her first EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012, when she dropped her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. She continued to upload her music online in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. In the following season, the music circulated all over Dreamville. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a track that she performed together with Cozz in The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she went on to guest feature on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was also released on September 5th. She released her second single Grampa on November 9. On November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. She appeared with Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then made the track available as a solo single to her first album. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was released for the song. It already has more than 3 millions views on YouTube within its first week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
